Melanie Odelle is a writer and musician living in New York. She plays music as Western Female. Her first album, Hot Sauce in Kitsap County, is about life in her homeland of the Pacific Northwest. Her writing has been published in The Brooklyn Rail, Brooklyn Magazine and in Writing American Cultures: Studies of Identity, Community, and Place. She is an MFA candidate at The New School, and currently lives in Ridgewood, Queens.
