Melanie Odelle is a writer and musician from a small island in the Pacific Northwest. She plays music as Western Female. Her first album, Hot Sauce in Kitsap County, made ripples locally. Her writing has been published in Brooklyn Magazine and in Writing American Cultures: Studies of Identity, Community, and Place. She is an MFA candidate at The New School, and currently lives in New York.
